🔧 Engine Parts Warranty — Overview
Terms and conditions of Warranty are legally binding upon purchase. We do not cover labor charges for any reason. Abuse, Commercial Use, and Industrial Use void any and all warranties.
If a warranty applies to the purchased part, the customer must return the item to the location it was shipped from. Our warranty is binding only with the original purchaser of this invoice — claims will be handled with the purchaser only.
Contact Just Junkyards immediately PRIOR TO REPAIRING OR REMOVING any components. We require the original install and repair receipts prior to considering any warranty claim.
Customer satisfaction comes first. That's why we back our engines with a 3-year warranty or 30,000 miles — whichever comes first. Read on to find out the full terms and conditions of your used engine or transmission warranty.

Coverage expires 36 months from purchase date or 36,000 miles from odometer at time of installation — whichever comes first.
✅ Covered Components — Engine
The following components of gasoline or diesel engines are covered: pistons & pins, crankshaft & main bearings, connecting rods & rod bearings, camshaft & camshaft bearings, intake & exhaust valves, valve springs, oil pump, push rods, rocker arms, hydraulic lifters, and rocker arm shafts.
The engine block and cylinder heads are covered only if damaged by a covered component.
Seals & Gaskets: Replaced only if part of a repair or replacement of a covered component. Leaking gaskets or seals in isolation are not covered.
Not Covered: Bolt-on accessories, wiring harnesses, sensors, switches, cables, electronics, belts, hoses, water pumps, manifolds, valve covers, brackets, flywheel, and attached accessory parts. Diesel engines: injectors, high-pressure oil pumps, high-pressure fuel injectors, or any part outside the core engine definition are not covered.
📚 Owner Obligations — Required to Maintain Warranty
The following actions are mandatory for your warranty to remain valid. Failure to perform any of these operations voids the warranty entirely.
- Oil & Filter Change: Must be performed at the first 1,000 miles after installation, then per manufacturer's recommended schedule. Official Service Center records required — handwritten records are not accepted.
- Oil & Temperature Gauges: Oil and temperature light/gauge and speedometer must be in proper working order at the time of installation.
- New Thermostat, Seals & Gaskets: Including Rear Main Seal — all must be newly installed at the time of engine installation.
- New Timing Belt: Must be installed where applicable.
- ASE Certified Installation: Engine or transmission must be installed by an ASE-certified automotive facility only. DIY installations are not covered under any circumstance.
- Warranty Activation: Must be activated within 10 business days of delivery by emailing support@justjunkyards.com. Odometer photograph must be sent within this timeframe or all warranties are voided.
📄 Acceptable Service Records
For any warranty claim, maintenance records must meet all of the following criteria to be accepted:
- Issued on the date of maintenance
- Issued in the name of the purchaser and signed by the purchaser
- Electronically generated (no handwritten information accepted)
- Issued by the commercial lubrication service facility performing the maintenance
- Includes mileage, date, VIN, year, make and model
- Includes a record of payment and service performed
🔄 Replacements & Returns
Warranty Replacements: In the event of a warranty claim qualifying for a free replacement, the part must be made available for pick-up within 7 working days of failure notification. Failure to do so is considered electing to keep the part and voids the warranty.
Wrong Part Received: We must be notified within 72 hours of delivery for return or exchange. After this window, our options are limited to what the vendor will accommodate.
Returns Before Shipping/Installation: Customer assumes all shipping costs plus a 35% restocking fee. The part must be made available for pick-up within 7 working days or no refund will be issued.
Replacement Motor/Transmission Sent Early: If we send a replacement before the unwanted/bad/wrong unit has been returned, the customer must ship it back within 30 days of purchase or they will be charged for both units.
🔑 Key Terms & Conditions
Transferability
This warranty is not transferable to another purchaser or another engine. It is binding only with the original purchaser of the invoice.
Limited Liability
Just Junkyards' liability is limited solely to supplying a replacement engine (if available) or refunding the purchase price. We assume no liability for labor, oil, antifreeze, towing, freight, lost profits, substitute transportation, or any consequential damages.
Mileage
All representations of mileage are estimates based upon information and belief. Odometer mileage for used engines and transmissions cannot be determined with certainty as they are routinely sold separately from the original vehicle.
Replacement
In the event of a total breakdown, Just Junkyards reserves the right to replace the engine with a used assembly of like kind and quality, or pay the wholesale replacement cost. Replacement of any part or engine is done only once under this contract. We will not be responsible for freight costs.
Fraud
Administrator reserves the right to terminate benefits upon discovery of fraud or misrepresentation. Evidence is forwarded to proper state and federal authorities. Any vehicle used in the commission of a crime will have all benefits terminated. Litigation must be filed in Hillsborough County, Florida.
Deposits
All deposits are non-refundable. Holds are up to 10 days. For motors over $5,000, the deposit of $1,000 is non-refundable. This applies to 25% deposit holds as well.
Freight Collect
We do NOT accept anything "Freight Collect." Delivery/shipping costs are non-refundable.
NO EXCEPTIONS
The following rules apply without exception in all circumstances
- All mis-ordered or mis-diagnosed parts will be assessed a 35% processing charge plus freight both ways, regardless of the reason.
- We do not assume towing, shipping, transportation, or car rental costs.
- Usual delivery time is 7–14 working days. Due to unusual circumstances, please allow additional time.
- All residential deliveries incur a $150 shipping charge unless otherwise agreed.
- Extended warranty is activated upon notification of installation of part.
- Engine or transmission must be installed AND warranty activated within 10 business days. Odometer photograph must be sent to support@justjunkyards.com within ten days of delivery or ALL WARRANTIES WILL BE VOIDED. Falsifying information automatically voids your warranty.
- Exchanges or store credits only after the part has been in customer possession for more than 30 days.
- No warranty or guarantee is made towards the appearance of any part.
- Inspect all parts before signing for them on delivery.
- Stated mileage is not guaranteed and is correct to the best of our knowledge.
- We do not warranty oil leaks or damage on engines or transmissions due to non-replaced seals, gaskets, or filters.
- OEM auto parts are interchangeable with multiple years, makes, and models. We guarantee the part we sell to fit your vehicle.
- All deposits are non-refundable.
- Any engine or transmission returned not in the same assembled condition as received will not be refunded. Disassembly without express written authorization voids the warranty.
- Engines are compression tested, visually inspected, and cleaned.
- Core fee refunds will not be issued if there are cracks or holes in the block or head, if the engine is disassembled, or if not returned within 30 days.
- No refunds will be issued for shipping damage or broken items not reported within 48 hours of delivery to Just Junkyards and the freight company. Written verification from the freight company of the freight claim must be retained in your records.
